OMEGA League Open Qualifiers

The new tournament, made by WePlay! Esports and Epic Esports Events, will start very shortly, on the first of August. So, it's time to talk about the format and dates of the Open Qualifiers.

Let's begin with the main points of the upcoming Qualifiers:

  • Format: subregional and student leagues

  • Regions: Europe and the Americas

  • The regions will be divided into subregions due to several reasons: four subregions per each for Europe and America

  • Subregions will be divided into four regional blocks

  • Qualifiers in all regions will have three rounds: Root Leagues, Subregional Playoffs and Subregional Finals

Important! In order to be able to take part in the tournament, every team must have at least two representatives of the region's countries. If you did not find your country in the lists, we will help you choose the right region for registration; you just need to contact us at support@weplay.tv.

Important! If your team has already received a slot in the next stages of the competition, you may not participate in the current qualifiers.

Important! Open Qualifiers for OMEGA League will be conducted on the WePlay! Esports tournament platform.

Format

Open Qualifiers Root Leagues

The teams will be eligible to play in any and every single-elimination (BO1) bracket for their respective subregion. The four best teams from each tournament will go to the second round of qualifiers (the exact rating of the teams will determine the final of the starting grid and the match for third place).

Open Qualifiers Subregional Leagues

The sixteen teams from each subregion will form four single-elimination brackets. All matches are BO3. The teams that lose in the semifinals will play an additional match to determine seeding. Teams that take first place in their bracket advance to the next round, Upper-Bracket Round 2. Teams that take second and third place in their bracket advance to the next round, Upper-Bracket Round 1. Teams that take fourth place in their bracket advance to the next round, Lower-Bracket Round 1.

The rest of the teams are eliminated.

Open Qualifiers FINAL ROUND

Final Round is two double-elimination brackets. Each will see four teams advance to the closed qualifiers.

Europe

Since there were four subregional groups in the European region, the final stage of the qualifiers will have two combined playoff rounds: the four best teams from the subregional stage of the playoffs of Eastern Europe will form a common grid with the four best teams from the subregional stage of the playoffs of Southern Europe (called Southeast Europe), and the four best representatives of Western Europe will form a common grid with the four strongest teams from Northern Europe (called Northwest Europe).

Important! The teams who won Stage Two Subregional Playoffs proceed straight to the semifinal of the combined playoffs of the third and last stage of Open Qualifiers.

Both final Playoffs, eight teams per each, will be held using a double-elimination BO3 grid. The eight best teams, four from each of the two combined playoffs, will receive entry into European Closed Qualifiers.

Americas

The American region was also divided into four subregional groups, so at the final stage of the qualifiers, there are also two final playoff grids. The Collegiate subregion will merge with the North America subregion to form North America, and the Spanish-speaking subregion will merge with the Portuguese-speaking to form South America.

The sixteen teams from each subregion will form four single-elimination brackets. All matches are BO3. The teams that lose in the semifinals will play an additional match to define seeding. Teams that take first place in their bracket advance to Americas DIVINE DIVISION. Teams that take second place in their bracket advance to the next round, Upper-Bracket Round 2. Teams that take third and fourth place in their bracket advance to the next round, Upper-Bracket Round 1. The rest of the teams are eliminated.

Final Round is two double-elimination brackets. Each bracket will see four teams advance to Americas DIVINE DIVISION.
